Key Role:
Anglin Consulting Group has an opening for a Financial Analyst I to work with the project team to participate in the design, development, functional and user acceptance testing of the Customer Information System (aka Vertex One or Vl)  currently under development.  The new system is based on the SAP platform and the analyst will be a member of the project team ensuring that the appropriate level of metering, billing and revenue reporting internal controls are present in Vl prior to implementation. The analyst is an active participant of project team working directly with the project leads in validating the functional requirements and developing test case scenarios related to customer billing and financial reporting. The analyst will partner with internal stakeholders to understand and logically document the as is process and the to be process related to metering, customer billing and revenue reporting.  This position is located in Washington, DC.

Essential Functions:
  • Partners with project team members to document business requirements related to customer billing and financial reporting.
  • Analyze customer and financial reports from Vl  and the Lawson Financial system.
  • Validates the system of internal controls in Vl relating to billing and financial reporting.
  • Analyzes bill/transaction batch exceptions and is able to perform analytical research related to exception processing.
  • Performs detailed review and analysis of complex billing and rate structures to ensure that they are applied correctly to all customer bill classes in V1.
  • Analyzes exception processing in meter readings and service orders that could impact billing.
  • Identifies root causes to exceptions and communicates findings to project team lead.
  • Analyze, document and test program development, logic, process flows and specifications during functional and user acceptance testing as they relate to billing and financial controls.
  • Assist in the documentation of user training manuals to describe application and operating procedures
  • Active participant of project team to document as-is and to-be business processes
  • Document and edit material for reports and manuals on the SAP V1 platform.
  • Validate the existing documented processes flows to ensure the logical sequence of their output
  • Work with enterprise architect, technical and functional staff in crafting business solutions


Basic Qualifications: Manages time effectively, meets deadlines, achieves established goals & objectives. Assist in establishing, accomplishing & continuously evaluating goals. Assumes responsibility for accuracy of work processes, multiple task flows, and actions and decisions.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business and 1 to 2 years of experience working in a customer billing and/or financial reporting area. Experience working in an SAP environment for Customer Information Systems or Financial Systems is an added plus. Experience working in a large volume-billing center is also an added plus.  Successful applicant will participate on a project team currently developing a new Customer Information System. Applicants’ focus on the team will be on rates, customer billing and financial reporting.   Candidate must possess:

This is a contract position with a minimum duration of one (1) year with option to extend based on performance and client needs.
