Key Role:
Anglin Consulting Group has an opening for a Senior Risk Management Analyst  to Assists the Risk Manager in managing a program that adequately addresses DC Water's liability, auto, property and construction related risks.  Is directly responsible for overseeing the Authority's Operational property, general liability and auto insurance claim programs. Investigates and manages all self-insured general liability claims; assist on pertinent claims matters. Responsible for overseeing the Authority's Capital general liability and workers' compensation programs. Works closely with the Authority's third party insurance administrators, insurers, safety staff, construction partners, engineering and fleet staff to identify and proactively manage areas of risk. Monitors/directs the insurance administrator's property, auto and liability claim activity on a consistent basis.
Prepares regular and special reports for the Risk Manager, Chief Financial Officer, General Manager and the Board of Directors; provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise.
Monitors industry claim trends and exposures and analyzes the Risk Management liability and property programs to ensure that potential risks are properly identified and addressed.
Meets with employees/managers to discuss and/or facilitate claim resolutions, and coordinate internal and external claim activity. Interview customers, field employees, supervisors, witnesses, and others to assist with claims investigations on and off-site.
Maintains and utilizes multiple data bases to document claim activity to include developing, preparing and distributing loss report summaries to management to help mitigate or prevent future losses.
Serves as a consultant and technical advisor on insurance and risk management issues to functional teams. Conducts management and employee training sessions for team members as needed. Develops and implements programs to reduce risk factors involving the operations of DC Water. Assists with establishing budget needs and planning, to include articulating the financial impact of risk factors on DC Water as a whole (i.e., cash reserves for catastrophic loss). Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the Risk Manager. This position is located in Washington, DC.


Basic Qualifications: Manages time effectively, meets deadlines, achieves established goals & objectives. Assist in establishing, accomplishing & continuously evaluating goals. Assumes responsibility for accuracy of work processes, multiple task flows, and actions and decisions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Management or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of insurance and or professional risk management experience
  • ‚ÄčA demonstrated ability to manage a general liability/workers' compensation claims programs or related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of, or progression towards Associate in Claims (Ale), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or other related professional designation is desirable. 
  • Experience with all property and casualty insurance lines highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in order to effectively evaluate information/data to make decisions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Utilizes personal computer and maintains a working knowledge of applicable software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, etc.).
  • General office conditions.

This is a contract position with a minimum duration of one (1) year with option to extend based on performance and client needs.
